About Bangladesh Digital University

Bangladesh Digital University is the first and only digital university in the country. The establishment of this institution was initiated on July 26, 2016, through the enactment of legislation in the National Parliament.

The university was founded with the mission of becoming a center for technological research and innovation, aligned with the goals of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It aims to create opportunities for higher education and research in Bangladesh while keeping pace with global advancements in science, engineering, and technology. With a strong focus on modern knowledge, particularly in information and technology, the university actively engages in academic and research activities, driving the development of new technologies.

Bangladesh Digital University offers effective and high-quality education in various fields of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Academic activities commenced in March 2019, and currently, the university operates six departments under four faculties. These departments include Educational Technology and Engineering, IoT and Robotics Engineering, Software Engineering, Cyber Security and Engineering, Data Science and Engineering, and the General Education Department. Among these, five departments admit students, while one functions as a supporting department. Additionally, the Institute of Online and Distance Learning facilitates online education programs. Each department focuses on delivering engaging and essential courses in digital technology.

The university's academic operations are currently conducted in a temporary facility near the designated land for its permanent campus. Every classroom is equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia technology, including interactive smartboards and projectors. Modern lab facilities are also available to support studies and research. Emphasizing hands-on, lab-based, and project-oriented education over traditional learning, Bangladesh Digital University stands out in its academic approach.

All educational activities at Bangladesh Digital University are managed through its own Learning Management System (LMS), which provides students with comprehensive academic services. The university strictly adheres to its academic calendar, ensuring smooth academic progress. The mission of this university is to accelerate national development and make significant contributions on a global scale by transforming the young generation into skilled human resources and successful entrepreneurs in the fields of digital and technological education, research, and innovation.
